This article analyzes the issue of evaluating the quality of post-secondary education from a qualitative perspective. The study focuses on three aspects in Mexico; system, institutions and programs. The author critically examines current evaluation-accreditation-hierarchization systems, which promote imitation, and proposes a new vision of teaching for assessing the quality of educational programs, applying qualitative methods that enable a deeper understanding of the meaning of educational processes in the operation of university programs.
