The new era of REencuentro

Currently, REencuentro is a digital magazine specialized in higher education issues within the framework of the contemporary technological society (with a biannual frequency). It consists of a multimedia editorial project, online, created for the dissemination of knowledge and relevant information on the fields of education, particularly focused on the analysis of university problems in Mexico and Latin America, the multi-ethnic and cultural region of which we are a part.

Through this project of cultural diffusion, it seeks to provide elements of analysis to the conversation between the different academic communities related to study, development, planning and exercise of education.

Its final purpose is to contribute to the development of educational thinking and to the exercise of an academic action that affects the problems of current society and the transformation of social conditions, through actions aimed at improving the quality of education, as well as as well as the processes of production, management, transmission and dissemination of knowledge.

The digital platform of REencuentro

The entrance of the magazine to the digital culture also implies new multimedia possibilities in the presentation of contents and new challenges derived from its presence on the Web, with a potential global audience in the Ibero-American region, REencuentro becomes the constituent mark of a tradition academic in a renewed, expanded, cyber-connected community and identified with issues related to education and the analysis of local, regional or global university problems within the framework of the globalized information society.

As a brand, REencuentro is also distinguished by what has been its language of production: Spanish; which covers the region of Latin America where our historical ties, our cultural heritages, our miscegenation in its richness and its contradictions, our management of interinstitutional links and our configuration of identities for the rest of the world appear; but also, today REencuentro offers the possibility of incorporating texts in Portuguese, with the purpose of extending ourselves to contemporary Ibero-American thought, establishing dialogues with the Brazilian and Portuguese academies and in English, as a lingua franca of scientific exchange. Our name has never made so much sense.

Given these circumstances and opportunities, we have begun a new era, with new design, new logo, new multimedia sections, but with the same mission of serving our readers with quality academic content that propitiates the interest and in-depth study of topics and relevant problems for the field of education, particularly, for the universities of our country and Latin America.
