La pertinencia de imaginar modelos universitarios

This paper analyses the pertinence of modeling institutions of higher education, or imagining university models, as an academic practice. It explains the problem from a theoretical standpoint focusing on the process of organizational change. Within this framework the paper describes the process of reconfiguration of a multimedia-classroom into a multi-functional lab through the application of a “native” university model. Finally, the paper reflects on this whole process and concludes that this particular academic practice is relevant and pertinent if models are imagined, designed, planned, applied, assessed and, at he same time, serves the community as the Laboratorio: Aula Multimedia (LAM) does at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Xochimilco.
