La universidad nodo como modelo de vinculación universitaria

Abstract

Trying to understand organizational change in higher education and the meaning of the node university as model for institutions of higher learning in the context of the network society, this essay explains the morphology of this university model and its operational system. Through out the article the node university is described as a hybrid and polymorphous organization, operating to preserve and protect teaching and academic research from the pressures of global capitalism. The idea is to develop outreach programs by using the power of new media in order to help universities to reaffirm values, such as autonomy, academic freedom, and social responsibility.
