Caracterización y Contraste de Instituciones de Educación Superior Privada a través del análisis del discurso de misión institucional

The study compares 83 Mexican higher education institutions by content analyzing the mission paragraph in their official websites. What themes and goals are declared in this rhetoric? Social responsability? Professional training and citizenship? Competitiveness? Social mobility? Is differentiation across university types evident in their mission paragraphs? Are there differences between public and private institutions? Is there a differentiation within the private sector, as other authors had suggested? Factor and cluster analyses show significant differences across university types, and some indication of blurring between the private and the public sector in discourses pertaining social mobility. In synthesis, there is evidence in the institutional messages of HEI being reactive to their environment
