This article attempts to reflect upon the changes that the Honest of so-called new technologies has generated in the fields of teaching and learning mathematical contents. Due to the importance of the social pertinence of higher learning institutions, in the area of mathematical competencies it is necessary to conform a reflexive way of thinking in accordance with the demands of modern societies, as well as designing didactic situations that enable the same pertinence in their contents as to adequately integrate within their environment. Facing such outlook, it is relevant to review the aspects impacting on the handling of technological media by teachers and students aiming towards the acquisition of mathematical knowledge.
