Abstract

The best practices are methods, models, or ways of doing that resolve problems for those who carry them out. Considering the complexity of providing a public service, such as elementary education, this article proposes the integration of practices that have proven to be successful in educational systems of similar characteristics. It is argued that institutions interested in improving their performance through the questioning of “the ways in which things have always been done” execute collective learning processes that allow them to build, adopt and adapt alternative courses of action for the resolution of real and common problems faced by the same type of organization, as proposed by Argyris´s double-loop learning model.
