Abstract

This article is a theoretical reflection on the experience of designing, producing and using a hypermedia CD-ROM called Mirar para saber (Looking in order to learn), which was produced by the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional (UPN). The details and process of developing educational software for university use are recounted from a perspective of an analysis of the relationship between universities and electronic communication media. The end product was an interactive resource designed to develop aesthetic appreciation. Some fundamental aspects of the CD-ROM included interactivity, structure and strategic use of multimedia idioms; audio, images, animation, text and hypertext.
