This article presents a variety of perspectives on academic paths in relation to the interplay of power in universities. The relationship between management tools, rationality and programs is discussed. The study develops a concept of programs as a core of ideas and actions as knowledge and educational practices. These range from the way the University defines goals, objectives and programs and the management strategies by which it implements them, to the way in which the students interact with them, i.e. through power plays and strategies.
