Abstract

The relation between the construction of the national State in Mexico, the constitutional laws about education and the historical context along the 19th and 20th centuries, are analized in this article.This includes the relation among social and political forces as the popular demands on education, the confrontation of State and church and the interventionism of foreign powers in the process of consolidation of the State.
