Abstract

This paper presents a proposal for the design and implementation of teaching and learning strategies for integrating Information and Communication Technologies (ITC) into the Core Curriculum of the modular Biology and Health Sciences program at the Autonomous Metropolitan University, Xochimilco Campus. The proposal takes into consideration academic objectives of the program, length of the modules, computer skills of instructors and students, and technological resources available. Two strategies have been constructed; one generalized, which could be integrated into either of the modules, and the other specific to the “Fundamental Cell Processes” module. This requires an instruction model, an interactive platform, ict training for instructors, and information management among administrators, persons in charge of delivering the module, and the university community.
