La calidad en educación superior o la otra cara del conflicto entre organización e institución universitarias

Abstract

This article examines the concept of quality of post-secondary education existent in Mexico subsequent to the implementation of modernizing public policies by the federal government. The focus is on the transformation of the university as an educational institution into a business organization, with an emphasis on the two main tools that accelerated the process; incentives for teachers, and the PIFI (Comprehensive Program for Institutional Consolidation) for universities. The author concludes that the university organization is an entity which basically transformed and adapted itself on the basis of funding awarded it to develop the substantive functions of a university.
