This article presents a theoretical examination of structural aspects of an analysis of Communication program curricula in Mexican schools. A diagram illustrates the economic and educational models. The economic model is based on specific effects produced by material and economic benefits in the post-secondary value system and perception as they translate into the curriculum process. The educational model shows the influence of the technical-pragmatic or rational-human systems, as the case may be, in the organization and systematization of knowledge, likewise reflected in the curriculum.
