This article presents the results obtained to date in a study on evaluation practices of university professors. The purpose of the study is to contribute to the examination of relationships between educational concepts and practices, in this case relating to evaluation. The article identifies the main trends in concepts of evaluating learning, functions attributed to evaluation, the goals of evaluation, the objects or contents evaluated, evaluation methods and the use made of the results. Identifying trends in evaluation practices in our university classrooms is a measure that can help this important process recover its influential role for all who participate in educational processes. In addition, it may help construct methods to improve our teaching task in general, and in particular our evaluation practices.
