Abstract

During the current globalization stage, the access to the new technologies for communication and information is provoking, among other things, differentiated reach to information and to knowledge, widening the gap between those countries producing technology and knowledge and not afluent countries, thing that also happens between educational centers with technological goods and those without them. As a result of this a greater and more noticeable elitization of the acces to knowledge and to some technologized cultural goods (like libraries, virtual galleries and the information highway itself: Internet) is happening. Here is offered a comment on the disadvantages observed for Mexico, together with some possible alternatives and solutions, according to the future Mexican university for year 2025 and to the needs and challenges impossed by globalization to the construction and use of the knowledge in a society moved by knowledge.
