Abstract

The present century finishes outlining diverse challenges to the mexican public university, wich has that having a neoliberal scenariy as environment that multiplies the commitment or mission of being conscious of the whole society. This product of the increment of the mexican social gap, expressed by the unequal allotment of the wealth as well as for the reduction of the opportunities in the public superior education for the young people, also for the unemployment of the graduate university and, the ideological handling in terms of the concept of educational quality the one wich that wants to be represented for diverse media and social spaces as one is in the private universities. We see that in the national middle class carry out disproportionate efforts in connection with their revenues to finance high educational grants, with the hope of guaranteeing the future of their children. Using elements of the prospective pleaning and of the epistemology, I intend in this article to establish the requirements of the desirable public university and reachable in the 2020. That is to say the university public futurist that confronts the mission according to their functions, necessities, objectives and values with the construction today of a better mexican society in the next millennium.
