Abstract

The word "challenge" used in the title of this paper had already become trendy even before the start of the new century (and millennium). "Living through" postmodernity has become a true challenge; daily life includes issues ranging from famine, war and overabundance (accompanied by high drug addiction statistics; the desire to have it all) to poverty (accompanied by high crime statistics; the result of having nothing). I believe that an interpretation of "challenge" in the university context implies relevance, quality and internationalization. For an evaluation of these factors, it is necessary to find suitable answers to many questions about the role of the contemporary university.
