Abstract

Schools are no longer the moralizing pretension of the beginning of the 20th century, which intended to trap individuals to transform them into urban subjects. Neither is it the offer of social and economical mobility it was at the middle of the century. Nowadays, education refers us to the establishment of a new order of relations which through discourse introjects the students' incorporation of the social, which is projected by them through their social practices. This is our concern. That is why, in the first place, we place the context of the production of educational discourse within the ethical dimension of teaching, in a dynamic conception of history which allows us to build the intersubjective meaning in the educational act. We start from a critical understanding of education with the purpose of considering and respecting the "other one" in his/her own context and culture, in an effort to conceptually free a single vision presenting reality as predetermined. We offer reality as a social construction and as such, subject to criticism and therefore, replacement. In this view, we propose: 1)to confront the objectives of education in our days, and an education for freedom, 2) to review the experience-based discourse which allows us to identify the values exposed by its relations, penetrating the subjective part of teaching related to the sense of what is human, 3) to glimpse formation as an ethical proposal of construction, as a possibility to become being in the encounter with others.
