Abstract

An information analysis was conducted concerning International trends in higher education, its relationship with the Bachelor degree of Industrial Pharmaceutical Chemistry offered by the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, as well as fundamental concepts that affect teaching. It was found that even if Mexico’s current policies on higher education are under the recommendations of international organizations, preserving the academic quality of the mentioned degree is necessary, alternative concepts by renowned educators are incorporated. In conclusion, it is important to implement a committed teaching practice, conducive to enhancing the capacities for reflection, reasoning, criticizing and analysis in the graduate from Industrial Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
