This paper explains the effects of applying the National Program of Scholarships for Higher Education (Pronabes) in the different Units and Divisions of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, particularly. Its impact on students academic trajectories. Based on the program´s purposes of equity (access, persistence and graduation), and considering its operative norms (ROP), the paper analyses the findings of the fist two years of academic trajectory of freshmen students who entered into the UAM between 2003 and 2004.
