Abstract

Thirty years after the foundation of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), its achievements have ranged from research and teaching to dissemination and preservation of knowledge and culture. The long road has been marked both by false steps and by progress; in learning, construction, modification and changes in the direction of its projects; of adjustments, and of acquired experiences. After three decades, we can say that we are a mature institution with a solid reputation and recognition. A fundamental part of preservation and dissemination of our tasks as a university are carried out by the university’s various publications, namely books and journals. To date, the Social Sciences and Humanities Division of our Xochimilco campus has published more than three hundred titles.
